The United Nations Association of Ethiopia – Hawassa University Chapter is officially launched
On April 24 2021, The United Nations Association of Ethiopia Hawassa University Chapter was launched. We’re celebrating a momentous milestone while we plan ahead to establish 10-15 university chapters this year, 2021.
The UNA-ET Hawassa University Chapter is based on the principles and values of the UNA-ET and it’s an initiative that encourages Hawassa University students to be involved in the interests and values of the United Nations by focusing on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the community. Although all students come from different regions, different backgrounds, different histories, and different views, they have one thing in common: They believe in one common humanity. This chapter will allow Hawassa University students the opportunity to be involved on a global platform.
Mr. Yohanan Yokamo, Director for International Relations & Alumni Affairs Directorate, Hawassa University made an opening speech and said that as of today’s launching program of the United Nations Association Ethiopia – Hawassa University Chapter main purpose is to promote the objectives of the United Nations and its specialized agencies in Ethiopia, by creating awareness among the university about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
